Sometimes I think being a food blogger would be fabulous.
I’d whisk around (no pun intended) in my Anthropologie apron, pulling cookies fresh from the oven that fill the apartment with heavenly scents. A smooth jazz plays softly in the background, while Lucy sleeps peacefully by the fire.
Unfortunately, this is problematic on a variety of levels.
I am a terrible baker (something about following directions, specific ingredient amounts, IDK), so if I had a legit food blog, I probably wouldn’t start with cookies. I don’t have a fireplace (and Lucy definitely would not be peacefully sleeping once she got a whiff of said cookies).
Mostly, recipe testing is a real bitch.
Between the ingredients ($$$) and the process, and the mess, it’s a production. Also, I burn things … or they look awful in pictures. I give food bloggers a lot of credit. You may not be able to tell, but a shit ton of work goes into every single blog post.
I wanted to have a bunch of inspiring, original fall recipes for you. Then I realized I was getting my panties in a bunch for no reason, because really, I can give you great fall recipes, and they don’t have to be mine.
One of the reasons the Internet is the best is because we have access to tons of delicious, beautiful recipes (fo free), and our job here is to curate all that good stuff so you don’t have to go digging. Why spend a zillion hours trying to create one perfect recipe, when I can point you in the direction of my fave bloggers for healthy, seasonal, feel-good food?
