Amazing Face by Simply Divine Botanicals

Let’s talk about Amazing Face by Simply Divine Botanicals, shall we?

While I was pregnant my face really freaked out. I mean, what am I saying, of course it did! Not sure what in my personal history ever lead me to expect that gorgeous pregnancy glow. No. My face went the other way. It was nasty.

I was recently looking through some pics on Joel’s phone from right after we brought Foster home and o.m.g. my face was broken out. Ugh. Good thing I didn’t have much time to look in the mirror.

Since then though, I have to say my face has done a 180.

I’m not sure if (fingers crossed) pregnancy simply wiped out the hormonal adult onset acne I’ve been battling for a decade, or if it’s something I’ve been doing that turned it around but, I’m not complaining. And I’m literally knocking on wood right now.

One change I can point to though, that made a noticeable improvement overnight, was the addition of this product to my skincare routine. I don’t know how else to describe it but, Amazing Face by Simply Divine Botanicals really does feel amazing.

At first glance, especially in the summer, one might think I have a more olive, oily complexion. I thought this too for the majority of my life. And it lead me to try countless products aimed at controlling oil and acne.

Turns out though, as my new dermatologist explained, I have a fair, dry complexion with high pigment potential, which is extremely different. This means that although I do tan easily, like those with a more olive complexion, I am actually quite dry and sensitive. (Fun fact: this is also why I scar easily.)

So here I’ve been doing to my face the exact opposite of what it needed all of these years. And that’s why I think Amazing Face immediately felt so wonderful. It was like chugging water after being out in the desert, for my face.

The first night I put it on, I fell in love. It has an extremely delightful yet subtle scent. It goes on smooth. And though it does take a minute or two to soak in, it doesn’t feel greasy or heavy. The first morning I woke up, my redness and breakouts looked calmer and my face had a healthier, hydrated glow. (Well, almost glow, let’s not get ahead of ourselves, Dana.)

I’ve been using it every night for about 4 months now and I will hopefully never stop. My face feels smooth and healthy for the first time in my adult life. And each morning I wake up (as long as I keep my pesky fingers off my face) it looks a little bit better. I’ve even started thinking that perhaps one day, in the near future, I won’t have to, gasp, wear foundation anymore! That would really be magical.

I first heard about this face cream from Jenny Sansouci over at Healthy Crush. She’d been raving about it for a while. And after reading amazing review after amazing review on Amazon I decided to try it. My only regret is not having tried it sooner.

The ingredients, the first of which are ‘unconditional love and gratitude’ are apparently reiki-energized (?), vegan, gluten-free, soy-free, GMO-free, SLS-free, paraben-free, aluminum-free and not tested on animals. So it’s definitely safer than your average drugstore moisturizer. But I think the real magic is not so much in the gratitude or safety but in the aloe vera leaf, which aids in healing skin tissue.

Either way, I love this stuff and I cannot recommend it highly enough. I’ll be jade rolling it on day and night for the foreseeable future.
