HELLO Friday. Wooo-eee this week was a doozy. Miami seems so long ago! That’s probably for the best. The sooner we forget what anything above 20 degrees felt like, the better, in terms of our mental health.
The work week was a little nutty, as we kicked off a big International Women’s Day celebration at Integrative Nutrition [insert a sweatband-clad Sarai singing “lay-dees-hands-up” circa 2003]. As you may or may not have read, we spent Wednesday evening at Uplift Studios with Caroline of Chardonnay Moi. We learned how to taste wine like a boss, and I think I’m going to have to order a few different types of wine at happy hour tonight in order to experiment with my new wine smarts. Hey, it’s for science. Speaking of, check this out: the birch box for wine (that doesn’t cost a fortune) has arrived and it’s wine awesomeness. No really, it’s called Wine Awesomeness.
Can we talk sports for a sec? As in, this MLB-pitching van man? I may just have to latch on to the Joelumbo airstream this summer, in hopes of sharing a parking lot with this dreamboat, Daniel Norris. Do you even realize the degree to which you could trick out that van with a $2 million signing bonus? Just kidding, I’m digging the simple life thing.
Raise your hand if you know you should be eating vegetables, and you like them and all, but never really know how many servings you’re eating a day. Enter: Project Vegetable. My friend Heather recently launched an alpha version of an app that aims to track your veggie intake! Think Fitbit for food. There are a whole bunch of dietary theories out there about what to eat and what not to eat, but the one thing everybody agrees on is that we should all be eating more vegetables.
How great is this creative calendar from Fast Company? Can’t guarantee I’ll fit in all 71 things to do, see and hear, but I’ll give it the ol’ college try.
Funny, my mom and I were just talking about turmeric milk when I came across this turmeric nutmilk tea from Sarah over at A House in the Hills. I think it’s a must-make this weekend. It sounds about as immune-boosting as it gets, and also delicious. Love me some turmeric.
